Once again the AmmA Centre was filled with music today.  This years participants spent the day working hard on their original material under the watchful eyes of their tutors James and Warren.  The pressure was on to get the songs completed in time for the recording sessions.  Watch the sessions here.

Bootcamp kicks off with Stephen Howell

August 10th marked the beginning of CoderDojo Bootcamp in Armagh with 30 young people arriving at the AmmA Centre to see technology wizard, Stephen Howell, work his magic. Stephen is a lecturer in Tallaght Institute of Technology, Dublin and visiting professor at the Tsuda College, Tokyo. He has travelled all over the world showcasing his software that allows people interface the Scratch programming language with Xbox Kinect camera and sensor.

A summer in the AmmA centre would not be complete without the sight of lots of young people floating about taking photographs.  Digital photography is a hugely popular pastime for young people and here at the AmmA Centre we strive to encourage that passion by sharing our knowledge of photography and setting some exciting tasks.

“The Lost Kids” completed their week at the AmmA centre Studio by recording a further 2 songs on the Thursday and Friday.  Watch the recording sessions video here.  New songs “Mama Always told me” and  “Dreamland” have now been posted on the AmmA centre Soundcloud here.  A big thank you to Conor Ryan (Drums), Lucy Mullan (Vocals), Rebecca Haughey (Vocals,Keyboards), Jade Gribbon (Vocals) and Chris McGuiness (Guitars, Vocals and Keyboards) for all their great work during the week.  Dont forget you can follow the band on Facebook and Twitter .  Keep your eyes on “The Lost Kids” and we may have a live performance to show you all over the next few months…
